Could having another passion help you?
A little while back I subscribed to Avinash Kaushik’s “Marketing Analytics Intersect” newsletter through his website Occam’s Razor. It was recommended to me by LunaMetrics, the company that I went to for my google training back in March 2017.
In a recent newsletter Avinash referenced an older issue and I asked him for the link to it because I thought it would be an interesting read. And it was.

I wanted to share this with you because it encourages people to find a passion of their, outside of work and then develop a “posse”, audience, or following.
Avinash’s newsletter readers tend to be employees working for someone else; however when reading this article I couldn’t help but think that his advice really does apply to self-employed people as well.
Running your own business is an amazing experience however I have found that it really can become everything that you are. It defines you. It consumes you and can sometimes dictate how you see your value or worth.
So then the question is, is that healthy? In my opinion on an amazing day, I really couldn’t care less if I had another passion as I’m at the top of the world, doing what I love. However when a day goes south on me, an extra passion to delve into, take my mind away from the day and surround myself with likeminded individuals might be what I need to destress and regroup for another day.
Just some food for thought!
